Basketball Recap: SWCHA S Triumphs

If Oakhill Christian wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played SWCHA S, they should've done a better job of containing Eric Smith. The SWCHA S Saints took their match on Friday with ease, bagging a 78-43 win over the Oakhill Christian Royals thanks in part to Smith, who went 8 for 19 on his way to 18 points along with seven boards and seven steals. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Will Nelson, who posted eight points and ten rebounds. He is becoming a predictor of SWCHA S's success: when he posts at least ten boards the team is 9-3 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).

When it comes to explaining why Oakhill Christian lost, don't look at Isaac Vogel. Despite the final result, he earned 14 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Esher Andrews, who scored 16 points.

SWCHA S's record is now 10-5. As for Oakhill Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.

SWCHA S will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Oakhill Christian at 7:00 p.m. on February 18th. As for Oakhill Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 77-30 loss against Varsity Opponent on the 25th.
