Polo hasn't had much luck against Eastland recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Marcos will head out on the road to face off against the Cougars at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Polo lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Milledgeville, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's contest. The Marcos were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Missiles on Monday. The Marcos not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 12th (when they won 13-4).
Logan Nelson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Polo is 4-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 0-11 otherwise.

At the plate, Dawson Foster and Gage Zeigler did most of the damage at the plate: Foster got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Zeigler went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Zeigler a new career-high. Gus Mumford was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Eastland ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past Warren/Stockton 4-3. The win was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won five matchups in a row.
Eastland's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-8. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Polo, their record now sits at 4-13.
Polo couldn't quite finish off Eastland in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 7-5. Can the Marcos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
