Football Recap: Spanish Springs Starts Season with Win Against Simi Valley + How To Watch

Spanish Springs had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Simi Valley Pioneers with a sharp 41-21 win on Friday. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Cougars just coasted through the last quarter.

When it comes to explaining why Simi Valley lost, don't look at Zane Tryon. Despite the final result, he rushed for 122 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries. Tryon's longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards. Quentin McGahan also helped out with an impressive 82 receiving yards.

Spanish Springs will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Clayton Valley Charter at 6:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Simi Valley, they will venture away from home to challenge Valencia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
