Baseball Game Preview: Grainger Grizzlies vs. Pigeon Forge Tigers

The Grainger Grizzlies are taking a road trip to challenge the Pigeon Forge Tigers at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Grainger is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Grainger will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Cherokee on Thursday. The Grizzlies skirted past the Chiefs 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Grizzlies have posted against the Chiefs since April 10, 2023.

Ty Collins was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Connor May was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Pigeon Forge came up short against South-Doyle on Thursday and fell 8-5.

Grainger moved to 11-14 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Pigeon Forge, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7-2.

Grainger suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Pigeon Forge in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Can the Grizzlies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
