Softball Recap: Rodriguez Gets the Win

While Rodriguez's win against Vintage wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mustangs narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Crushers 4-2. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Crushers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Angel Boot spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 6 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, Rodriguez saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ellie Steiger, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that Steiger has snagged this season.

Rodriguez's record is now 4-2. As for Vintage, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Rodriguez will head out on the road to challenge American Canyon at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Vintage, they will host San Marin at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
