Baseball Recap: Crookston Comes Up Short

Crookston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawley Nuggets. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Nuggets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Lucas Perala made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was his first of the season.

Crookston's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Hawley, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crookston will square off against Park Rapids at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hawley, they will take on Mahnomen/Waubun at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
