Basketball Preview: Rosman Tigers vs. Draughn Wildcats
The Rosman Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Draughn Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Rosman scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Owen, posting a 75-44 victory at home. Given Rosman's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while the Warhorses are ranked 515th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Marlee Carnathan was a one-man wrecking crew for Rosman as she scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carnathan has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alissa Cheek, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Draughn got the win against the Patriots on Friday by a conclusive 75-51.
Rosman's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Draughn, their victory bumped their record up to 8-13.
Rosman beat the Wildcats 50-41 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rosman since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
