Volleyball Recap: Newton Local Takes a Loss

Newton Local was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Fairlawn Jets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Fairlawn scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 20-25, 25-19, 25-22.

Newton Local's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Fairlawn, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-15.

Newton Local does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fairlawn, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Ansonia on the 21st.
