Basketball Recap: Laurel Highlands Piles Up the Points Against Waynesburg Central

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Laurel Highlands). They blew past the Waynesburg Central Raiders, posting a 78-44 win. The Mustangs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Raiders, too.

Leading Laurel Highlands to victory were Aiden Black and Luke Martin. Black posted 18 points, while Martin earned 17 points. With that strong performance, Black is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Smith, who posted 12 points.

The victory got Laurel Highlands back to even at 2-2. As for Waynesburg Central, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Laurel Highlands will challenge McKeesport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Waynesburg Central, they will square off against Aquinas Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Aquinas Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
