Crisp County extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 30-24 heartbreaker at the hands of the Peach County Trojans. The Cougars lost against the Trojans in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 35-7 score last time.

Crisp County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Derrell Brown, who rushed for 78 yards and one score on only six carries, and also picked up 32 receiving yards. Deshaun Fedd was another key receiver, picking up 69 receiving yards and one TD.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Crisp County, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Fedd, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Crisp County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. Jordan Fox was the real danger to the passing game, picking up three interceptions all by himself. He was another major factor on D, making six total tackles and snagged three interceptions.

As for Peach County, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 36.5 points this season.

Peach County was led to victory by Ashton Barton and Zion Hudson. Barton rushed for 129 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, while Hudson picked up 182 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Hudson's longest reception was for an incredible 74 yards.

Crisp County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-38 win against Dougherty on the 12th. As for Peach County, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Northside at 7:30 p.m. on the 19th.
