Shelbyville's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the San Augustine Wolves. This was a revenge game for the Dragons: when they faced off against the Wolves back in September, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-21, 23-25, 25-16.

Cori Lawson paced Shelbyville's offense, picking up 19 kills. Lawson got some help from Jayleigh Jones and her 26 assists. Lawson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Shelbyville's win bumped their record up to 7-16. As for San Augustine, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Shelbyville will take on rival Groveton at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, San Augustine is set to square off against their familiar foe Hemphill at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
