Baseball Recap: McClatchy Triumphs

McClatchy got themselves on the board against River Valley on Monday, but River Valley never followed suit. They came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 4-0.

The result came thanks to Everett Yeske's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Antonio Barber, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jace Martinez, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

McClatchy's victory bumped their record up to 16-3. As for River Valley, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Coincidentally, McClatchy and River Valley will both be playing Lassen the next time they take the field. The Lions will head out to face the Grizzlies at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, while the Falcons will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
