Baseball Game Preview: Knightdale Knights vs. Wakefield Wolverines

Knightdale is 1-9 against Wakefield since June of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Knights will head out to square off against the Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. Knightdale has given up an average of 10.3 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Knightdale is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 16 runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against Wakefield on Monday. They lost 24-0 to the Wolverines.

For Wakefield's part, Tyler Rotellini looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Thomas Piscorik was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jameson Stubbs, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

Wakefield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Knightdale only posted an OBP of .118.

With that tie, Wakefield's record moves to 19-3-1. As for Knightdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.
