Cibola put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Sandia Matadors 10-4. Considering the Cougars have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Gabrielle Moncada spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ava Benavidez was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Angelica Medina was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Cibola's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average this season. As for Sandia, they moved to 4-4 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coming up, Cibola will be playing in front of their home fans against La Cueva at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cibola's pitchers better be ready for this one: La Cueva has averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Sandia, they will challenge Rio Rancho at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Sandia will need to watch out since Rio Rancho has now posted at least ten runs in their last four matches.
