Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Keniel Ortiz and Caden Huntington Lead Portage Northern to Victory + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Mary's Prep, Portage Northern was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 24-10 victory over the Midland Chemics. That's more bragging rights for the Huskies, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leading Portage Northern to victory were Caden Huntington and Keniel Ortiz. Huntington rushed for 55 yards and one score, while Ortiz rushed for 138 yards.

Portage Northern didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kinslo Artic and Conner Harding.

The win got Portage Northern back to even at 1-1. As for Midland, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Portage Northern and Midland will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Huskies will take on rival Mattawan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Midland is set to challenge their familiar foe Bay City Western at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
