Centerville barely beat Fairmont the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Elks put the hurt on the Firebirds with a sharp 11-1 win on Friday. Considering the Elks have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Caitlyn Belcher made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four RBI and one double.
