Softball Recap: Hamilton Falls Short Against Ranked Basha

Hamilton faced Basha in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Huskies fell just short of the Bears by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Huskies couldn't push the score so high this time.

Liliana Russo was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits.

At the plate, Hamilton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amirah Lenon, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Hamilton's loss dropped their record down to 16-7-1. As for Basha, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

While Hamilton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
