Soccer Game Preview: Taylor vs. Menendez

The Taylor Wildcats will square off against the Menendez Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Taylor will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each contest than the last.

Taylor is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Atlantic a 5-0 shutout on Thursday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Wildcats with their most commanding win of the season.

They hit Atlantic with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ava Castro (2), Shaelynn Villafuerte, Mariana Galarza, and Hannah Renteria.

Meanwhile, Menendez's game on Friday was all tied up 2-2 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They lost 6-2 to West Nassau. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 310th, while the Warriors are ranked 146th).

Taylor's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-9. As for Menendez, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-9.

Taylor suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Menendez when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Taylor avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
