Softball Recap: Vance Charter Gets the Win

While Vance Charter's win against Wake Prep Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Vance Charter had just enough and edged out Wake Prep Academy 4-3 on Wednesday. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Guardians recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Aubrey Puryear was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one home run the last five times she's played. Dakota Dickerson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Vance Charter's record now sits at 4-2. As for Wake Prep Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vance Charter will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Franklin Academy at 4:00 p.m. on April 9. As for Wake Prep Academy, they will head out to take on East Wake Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
