Preview: Will Carleton Academy Cougars vs. Calhoun Christian Cougars
Will Carleton Academy is 0-10 against Calhoun Christian since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Will Carleton Academy Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Calhoun Christian Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Will Carleton Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 13 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Last Tuesday, Will Carleton Academy was beaten by Battle Creek Academy 45-13. While losing is never fun, Will Carleton Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 386th, while Battle Creek Academy is ranked 89th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Madison Recob, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kherington Ladd, who scored four points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Calhoun Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They suffered a tough 45-25 defeat at the hands of Climax-Scotts.
Will Carleton Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Calhoun Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-3.
Will Carleton Academy came up short against Calhoun Christian in their previous meeting back in January, falling 36-25. Can Will Carleton Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
