Softball Recap: Niles North Comes Up Short

After flying high against Niles West on Thursday, Niles North came back down to earth. The Vikings took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Trier Trevians on Saturday. The Vikings have struggled against the Trevians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Niles North saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Espinoza, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run. Another was Olivia Infante, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Niles North's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for New Trier, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Niles North will be playing at home against Amundsen at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New Trier, they will head out to take on Glenbrook South at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trevians are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
