Basketball Recap: Kason Shaddix's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Clay County Christian Academy over Tuscaloosa Christian

Clay County Christian Academy lost against Tuscaloosa Christian back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eagles received a blow as they fell 55-39 to the Warriors. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Clay County Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kason Shaddix, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Connor Sims, who earned 11 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Tuscaloosa Christian was led to victory by Josiah Wiggins and Alex Anglin. Wiggins went 9-for-19 on his way to 22 points and six steals, while Anglin shot 44% from the field en route to 23 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Anglin's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Kaeson Dogan was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.

Clay County Christian Academy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Tuscaloosa Christian, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Tuscaloosa Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-47 win against Chilton Christian Academy on the 1st. Hopefully Clay County Christian Academy paid attention to the Warriors' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on the 4th.
