Basketball Recap: St. John Comes Up Short

After soaring to 60 points the game before, St. John was a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They were outmatched by the Mogadore Wildcats and fell 72-14. The Fighting Herald were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-7.

Mogadore's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ari Tompkins, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten assists. The dominant performance gave Tompkins a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Julie Tompkins, who went 7-for-12 to rack up 18 points and three steals.

St. John has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which is still a better percentage than their 4-15 record this season. As for Mogadore, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-4.

St. John does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mogadore, they will take on Central Christian in a tournament on Tuesday. Central Christian will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Mogadore surely won't give up without a fight.
