It's playoff time, and Clairton had no trouble coming through when it counted. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Laurel Spartans 8-6. The win continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won four in a row.

Jeff Thompson threw for 45 yards and one TD. Brandon Murphy Jr was his top target, picking up 27 receiving yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Donte Wright rushed for 80 yards.

Clairton's victory bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Laurel, the defeat snapped their winning streak at nine games and leaves them with a 12-2 record.

Coming up, Clairton will face off against Greenville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans' defense has only allowed 14.8 points per game this season, so the Bears' offense will have their work cut out for them. Laurel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
