Preview: Keller Central Chargers vs. Southlake Carroll Dragons
The Keller Central Chargers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Southlake Carroll Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Tuesday, Keller Central was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 45-41 to V.R. Eaton. While losing is never fun, Keller Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 378th, while V.R. Eaton is ranked 141st).
The losing side was boosted by Jordan Blair, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 41.5% of Keller Central's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Mays, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Southlake Carroll unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 48-27 defeat at the hands of Keller. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Southlake Carroll has scored all season.
This is the second loss in a row for Keller Central and nudges their season record down to 11-16. As for Southlake Carroll, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-7.
