Soccer Game Preview: Pleasant Grove vs. Hillcrest

The Pleasant Grove Vikings will square off against the Hillcrest Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Pleasant Grove is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Bonneville 4-1. The result was nothing new for Pleasant Grove, who have now won seven matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Hillcrest had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Wolverines. That's two games straight that Hillcrest have won by just one goal.

Carlos Leon was the driving force of Hillcrest's attack as he scored both of Hillcrest's goals, bringing his season total up to 17 goals.

Hillcrest's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Pleasant Grove, their win bumped their record up to 18-0.

Pleasant Grove beat Hillcrest 2-0 in their previous meeting back in March of 2020. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Huskies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
