Softball Recap: Anacoco Now 17-2 over Last 19 Games

Anacoco got themselves on the board against Lacassine on Tuesday, but Lacassine never followed suit. They blew past the Cardinals 15-0. The Indians were shut out 10-0 the last time they took on the Cardinals, so the Indians were just returning the favor.

Tori Haymon made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 3-for-3. What's more, she posted two runs, the most she's had since back in March.

In other batting news, Anacoco got a massive performance out of Raylee Mitchell, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave Mitchell a new career-high. Brooklyn Bryant was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Anacoco is on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 19 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season. As for Lacassine, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-7 record.

Anacoco will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cardinals: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Wednesday.
