It was fun while it lasted, but Whitney's undefeated season came to an end after three games on Friday. They fell 6-2 to the Rocklin Thunder. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thunder apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.
Emma Rabe made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. Grace Boyd also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Having lost for the first time this season, Whitney fell to 3-1. As for Rocklin, their victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.
Looking ahead, Whitney will host Pleasant Grove at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Whitney's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Pleasant Grove's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Rocklin, they are taking a road trip to challenge Ponderosa at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rocklin is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
