Soccer Recap: Anna Comes Up Short

If Anna was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Ponder on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Coyotes fell just short of the Sulphur Springs Wildcats by a score of 4-3 on Friday.

Izaya Escobedo and Jackson Pierce scored all three of Anna's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Anna now has a losing record of 3-4-1. As for Sulphur Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Anna will square off against Lovejoy at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Anna's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Sulphur Springs, they will face off against Sunnyvale at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Sulphur Springs' defense better be ready for this one: Sunnyvale have averaged an impressive 2.8 goals per game this season.
