Baseball Game Preview: Cooper Dragons vs. Kinkaid Falcons

Cooper hasn't had much luck against Kinkaid recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Cooper will face off against Kinkaid at 6:00 p.m. Cooper has given up an average of 7.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Cooper and Tomball Kings meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. Cooper fell just short of Tomball Kings by a score of 13-12. One positive for the Dragons, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last match, Kinkaid made sure to put some runs up on the board against Northland Christian on Saturday. Kinkaid never let Northland Christian get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. Considering the Falcons have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Kinkaid has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. Cooper's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8-1.

Cooper couldn't quite get it done against Kinkaid in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 as they fell 6-2. Can Cooper avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
