Basketball Game Preview: Chautauqua Lake Eagles vs. Westfield Wolverines

Chautauqua Lake hasn't had much luck against Westfield recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Both will face off at 6:00 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Westfield took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Chautauqua Lake, who comes in off a win.

On Thursday, Chautauqua Lake was fully in charge, breezing past Brocton 68-28. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Westfield unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They received a blow as they fell 43-24 to Panama. Having soared to a lofty 73 points in the game before, the Wolverines couldn't push the score so high this time.

Chautauqua Lake will have to contain Mackenzie Schumaker as she made an impact in Westfield's last game. She posted 12 points.

Westfield's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Chautauqua Lake, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-0.

Chautauqua Lake was dealt a bruising 65-29 defeat at the hands of Westfield in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Thankfully for Chautauqua Lake, Tanleigh Bestine (who went 7 for 16 on her way to 27 points and seven rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
