Volleyball Recap: Hudson Explorers vs. Stow-Munroe Falls Bulldogs

After losing to Stow-Munroe Falls the last time they met, Hudson decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Explorers came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Explorers.

Hudson got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. The final score came out to 32-34, 25-19, 27-25, 25-22.

Gianna Tripp paced Hudson's offense, picking up 24 kills. Tripp got some help from Maribeth Slater and her 25 assists. Lani Slater and Maddy Dearstine kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with five aces apiece.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carrie Winkler, who had 24 assists and 11 digs. Another player making a difference was Zoey Mccullough, who had 22 digs and four aces.

Hudson's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Stow-Munroe Falls, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
