Baseball Game Preview: East Liverpool Potters vs. Toronto Red Knights

The East Liverpool Potters will venture away from home to face off against the Toronto Red Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. East Liverpool, yet to win a game, are hoping to taste some of the success that has characterized Toronto's (thus far) undefeated season.

East Liverpool had taken Indian Creek down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Potters came up short against the Redskins, falling 23-1.

East Liverpool saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dom Johnson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Meanwhile, Toronto's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout last Tuesday. They blew past David Anderson 13-0. Fans of the Red Knights have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Toronto pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 10.4 runs thus far. As for East Liverpool, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

East Liverpool couldn't quite finish off Toronto when the teams last played back in April of 2021 and fell 5-3. Can the Potters avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
