Basketball Recap: East Wake Academy Takes a Loss

East Wake Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Monday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were dealt a 47-16 loss at the hands of the Thales Academy Flowers Plantation Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 48-31 last Tuesday.

As for Thales Academy Flowers Plantation, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.0 points on average over those games.

Thales Academy Flowers Plantation got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alayna Gladney out in front who posted 16 points. Hunter Broadwell was another key player, putting up ten points.

Coming up, East Wake Academy will face off against American Leadership Academy-Johnston at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Thales Academy Flowers Plantation, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Alamance Christian at 3:30 p.m. on December 5.
