Basketball Recap: Powder Valley Comes Up Short

On Saturday, the Powder Valley Badgers opened the new year with a less-than-successful 52-42 loss to the Weston-McEwen TigerScots. While losing is never fun, the Badgers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while the TigerScots are ranked sixth).

Powder Valley dropped their record down to 3-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Weston-McEwen, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Powder Valley will welcome Wallowa at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Weston-McEwen, they will face off against Union at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
