Basketball Recap: Henderson County Continues Road Dominance on Thursday

Crittenden County typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Henderson County proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 70-60 win over the Crittenden County Rockets. The Colonels haven't had any issues with the Rockets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Henderson County was led to victory by A'Tylia Green and Allyson Rideout. Green almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine assists, while Rideout went 9-for-14 en route to 20 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Green has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Gibson, who posted nine points and five boards.

Henderson County pushed their record up to 22-4 with the win, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points over those games. As for Crittenden County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Henderson County will venture away from home to square off against Owensboro Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Owensboro Catholic will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Henderson County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Crittenden County, they will head out to face off against Madisonville-North Hopkins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
