Soccer Recap: Cornerstone Charter Comes Up Short

Cornerstone Charter managed to keep up with Triad Math and Science Academy until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Cardinals lost 5-2 to the Bengals. If Cornerstone Charter were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to Triad Math and Science Academy when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kendall Pope wasn't going to let Triad Math and Science Academy walk away unscathed as he scored both of Cornerstone Charter's goals, bringing his season total up to six goals.

Cornerstone Charter's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-7-4. As for Triad Math and Science Academy, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-1-1 and their overall record up to 7-3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Cornerstone Charter will head out to square off against River Mill at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Triad Math and Science Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge Phoenix Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
