Newport entered their tilt with KIPP Delta on Thursday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They came out on top against KIPP Delta by a score of 71-61. Given the Greyhounds' advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while KIPP Delta are ranked 252nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Newport has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for KIPP Delta, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.
