Kelso had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Heritage on Monday. Kelso never let Heritage get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. With that win, the Hilanders brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Blake Larwick, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Huntley, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Kelso picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 4-2. As for Heritage, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Kelso will have a chance to go back-to-back against Heritage: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
