Football Preview: Luverne Tigers vs. Montgomery Academy Eagles        
        
		
             Luverne has been on the road for two straight, but  on Friday they'll finally head home. They will welcome the Montgomery Academy Eagles  at 7:00  p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
 Luverne is headed in fresh off scoring the most  points they have all season. They were the clear victor by  a  41-20 margin over Zion Chapel on Thursday. The Tigers pushed the score to  34-14 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rebels had  little chance of recovering from.
 Luverne found their leader in underclassman  Elliott Harris, who rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also picked up 147 receiving yards and a touchdown. Harris showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 69 yards. Another player making a difference was  Kane Smith, who threw for 232 yards and a touchdown on only 13 passes.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Luverne was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 247  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 195  rushing yards in three consecutive  games.
 Meanwhile, Montgomery Academy got the win against Northside Methodist Academy  on Friday by a conclusive  41-16. Given the Eagles' advantage  in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings  (they are ranked 99th, while the Knights are ranked 351st), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Montgomery Academy found their leader in underclassman  Reid Mcbride, who threw for 236 yards and three touchdowns while completing 92.9% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Mcbride's posted a season-high passer rating of 171.1.  D.J. Vinson was another key player, picking up 106 receiving yards and a touchdown.
 The  victory  got Luverne back to even at 2-2. As for Montgomery Academy, their win was  their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 4-1.
