Baseball Game Preview: Lithia Springs Lions vs. Villa Rica Wildcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Lithia Springs Lions take on Villa Rica Wildcats at 5:55 p.m. Lithia Springs has given up an average of 10.9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Lithia Springs is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Monday. They came up short against Alexander, falling 15-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Lions were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Villa Rica came tearing into Monday's contest with 14 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 7-3.

Villa Rica pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Lithia Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Lithia Springs suffered a grim 18-0 defeat to Villa Rica in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Lithia Springs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
