Basketball Recap: Booker Starts Season with Win at Home

Booker took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 78-55 margin over the Venice Indians. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tornadoes also won the last time the pair played back in January.

Booker can attribute much of their success to Marayah Stuart, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine boards. Stuart has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Kennedy Guy was another key player, going 5-for-9 en route to 13 points and six rebounds.

Coming up, Booker won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Avon Park at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Venice, they will head out to take on Port Charlotte at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
