Volleyball Game Preview: Madera Coyotes vs. McLane Highlanders

The Madera Coyotes will face off against the McLane Highlanders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Madera is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since April 30, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Sunnyside, falling 3-0.

Madera was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-23, 25-19.

Meanwhile, McLane unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Sanger West by a score of 3-2.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, McLane sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-12, 22-25, 25-22, 22-25, 16-14.

Madera has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-14 record this season. McLane's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Madera suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to McLane in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Madera avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
