Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Hug

Hug won the last time they faced Truckee and things went their way on Friday too. The Hug Hawks put the hurt on the Truckee Wolverines with a sharp 84-59 victory. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Hawks had established a 21 point advantage.

Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Vincent Long, who went 6 of 13 to rack up 19 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Estabrook, who posted 11 points and five boards.

The win was the fourth in a row for Hug, bringing their record for this year to 12-13. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points over those games. As for Truckee, they dropped their record down to 3-18 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coming up, Hug will take on Fernley at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Fernley will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Hug surely won't give up without a fight. Truckee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
