Softball Recap: Elwood Takes a Loss

Elwood had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 5-10 to make it five. They came up short against Eastbrook, falling 10-0. The match marked the first time this season in which Elwood was not able to get on the board.

Elwood saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kelsey Armes, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

As for Eastbrook, their record is now 11-7. The result was nothing new for Eastbrook, who have now won ten games by eight runs or more so far this season.

On Eastbrook's side, Randy Casto made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. Casto was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Gracie Elliott was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Mya Peterson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elwood will venture away from home to take on Wabash at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Eastbrook, they will head out to challenge Lewis Cass at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
