Baseball Recap: Iona Prep Takes a Loss

Iona Prep has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.03 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Archbishop Molloy Stanners.

Iona Prep saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Merola, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Iona Prep's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 23-7-1. As for Archbishop Molloy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-6-1 record this season.

Iona Prep will square off against St. Raymond Boys at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. Archbishop Molloy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
