Softball Recap: Fairmont Takes a Loss

Fairmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pender Patriots. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Tornadoes of the 17-9 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Fairmont's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Pender, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Coming up, Fairmont will be playing at home against Red Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pender, they will venture away from home to face off against South Columbus at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pender is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
