Soccer Game Preview: First Coast vs. Mandarin

The First Coast Buccaneers will square off against the Mandarin Mustangs at 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Mandarin will be up against a hot First Coast team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. First Coast was the clear victor by an 8-2 margin over Baker County last Friday. It was an even better day for Ezequiel Flores as he scored three goals for his team.

Meanwhile, Mandarin put another one in the bag last Thursday to keep their undefeated season alive. They put the hurt on Nease with a sharp 4-1 victory. The score was close at the half, but the Mustangs pulled away in the second half with two goals.

Mandarin's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-0-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those six contests. As for First Coast, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5-2 record this season.

First Coast suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Mandarin when the teams last played on January 7th. Can First Coast avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
