Basketball Recap: Jackson Dorminy's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bellwood-Antis over Chestnut Ridge

Bellwood-Antis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 62-51 defeat to the Chestnut Ridge Lions. The Blue Devils were not able to make up for their loss to the Lions from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Bellwood-Antis lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jackson Dorminy, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 18 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Those four steals gave Dorminy a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Curtis Shedlock, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 15 points and three steals.

Bellwood-Antis' defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Chestnut Ridge, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-3.

Bellwood-Antis will challenge Bald Eagle Area at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chestnut Ridge, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Chestnut Ridge Lions take on the Penn Cambria Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Chestnut Ridge knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Penn Cambria likes a good challenge.
