Katie Dzialo made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 17 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.

In other batting news, MacKenzie Caouette and Sofia Reyes did most of the damage at the plate: Caouette went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Reyes went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kyla Bedell, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs.

St. Joseph kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, McMahon had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Bridgeport Central with a sharp 19-3 victory on Friday. The Senators not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since May 8, 2025 (when they won 27-5).

Aly Cassidy made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, McMahon let Gabby Bisignano and Isabella Spagnuolo run wild. Bisignano went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Spagnuolo went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most hits Spagnuolo has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Silbergleit, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

St. Joseph's record now sits at 10-5. As for McMahon, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-10 and their overall record up to 4-10.

McMahon's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: St. Joseph has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game. It's a different story for McMahon, though, as they've been averaging 13.4 hits. Given St. Joseph's sizable advantage in that area, the Senators will need to find a way to close that gap.

St. Joseph got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 against McMahon by a conclusive 20-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cadets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
